What the protection level means
Manufacturer-stated NIJ IIIA (handgun level). IIIA is the highest handgun level in the US National Institute of Justice scale (NIJ 0101.06, tested with .357 SIG and .44 Magnum rounds). The newer NIJ standard calls the closest level HG2. It is not rated against rifle rounds, and it is not a stab or spike rating unless the listing says so separately.
